Alex's Adventures with the Real Ghostbusters: Evil Doubles

It was morning when the Ghostbusters, Ray Stantz, Peter Venkman, Egon Spengler, and Winston Zeddemore, got back from their fight with Gozer the Gozerian. And boy, were they worn out! Peter asked, "What's the first thing we do, Egon?" Egon replied, "We must get rid of our uniforms. They absorbed frightful amount of ectoplasm during the fight with Gozer." Janine said, "Guys?" Ray asked, "What is it, Janine?" Janine replied, "You have new uniforms." The new uniforms had different colors. Later that day, Peter and Egon restarted the containment grid. Egon reminded Peter not to forget to burn the old uniforms. Unfortunately, the uniforms had been stored next to the containment unit. There was a crack that none of the Ghostbusters had known about. The uniforms soon began to absorb the psychokinetic energy seeping out of that crack. For the next few weeks, they forgot about that and kept working to repair the firehouse. Egon had soon created an animal division for the team. The ones who signed up for the job were Alex, Gloria, Marty, Melman, Zuba, Florrie, Leonette, Xiro, Kairel, Bruma, Panthy, Dagnino, Simba, Nala, Timon, Pumbaa, Tantor, Terk, King Julien, Mort, Maurice, Louis, Genie, Sebastian, Kovu, Kiara, Mufasa, Sarabi, Ahadi, Uru, Skipper, Kowalski, Rico, Private, Kate, Humphrey, Tony, Garth, Lilly, Winston, Eve, Aleu, and Legolas. They signed up and helped the Ghostbusters fix their base of operations, the firehouse. They didn't know, however, that they were being watched. The night the firehouse was complete, they found out. Ray said, "Friends, a toast. To our first night back in the firehouse. And a toast to our new recruits." Everyone said, "To the firehouse!" Suddenly, a strange noise came from outside. "What's that?" asked Kate. Humphrey said, "That can't be the plumbing. I just fixed it." Egon pulled out his PKE Meter and announced, "Friends, something's here. And it's right over there." Suddenly a floating green ghost came out of the wall. "Oh, boy! Food!" the ghost shouted. "It's him!" yelled Peter. Garth shouted, "It's that little rascal that got Peter and Kairel at the Sedgewick Hotel!" Winston, Kate's dad, yelled out, "Get him!" He got away, but for the next few weeks, they saw a lot of that ghost over the next few weeks. Naturally, when they saw him, they reacted to him in their own unique ways. One day, however, Ray decided to give him a name. Bruma said, "Okay. But let's make it a good one to annoy Peter and Kairel." Private suggested, "What about Slimer? Sliming is what he does best." Slimer agreed with the name. However, there was an even bigger problem which became known that night. That night, Ray woke up and said, "Guys, we've got some trouble here. Big, big trouble." Zuba sprung up from his bed and yelled, "Guys, get up!" As soon as they woke up, Marty shouted, "Oh, sugar honey iced tea!" Legolas yelled in a panic, "Aleu! Get up! We've got trouble!" Aleu sprung up and gasped in horror. What they saw were four ghostly doubles of Ray, Peter, Egon, and Winston. "Make a break for it!" yelled Alex as they edvaded the blast of ectoplasmic energy from the duplicates' blast streams. "Guys, get downstairs! We have to get our packs!" Garth yelled to the others. Everyone slid down the fire pole to the first floor. Get to the lockers! Our packs our in there!" Lilly shouted. They strapped on their packs and blasted back. Ray said, "Get to the window!" They ran back upstairs. Simba said, "They got away!" The Ghostbusters' doubles jumped through the open window and disappeared into the night. Humphrey said, "Come on! Let's get after them!" Egon replied, "Wait! We need to know what we're dealing with first." Ray said to Egon, "What we're dealing with is us. Those things look just like us!" Xiro said, "They're wearing your original uniforms!" Mufasa asked, "How is that possible? They were destroyed, weren't they?!" Uru turned to the others and said, "Guys, I think we should look at the basement. Whatever happened here tonight started there." Everyone went down with the basement with PKE meters in hand. Kate said, "The old uniforms have absorbed more ectoplasm." "James said, "I think I know why." They turned their attention towards the crack in the containment grid. "I guess it was only a matter of time before it, well, literally woke up and walked away." said Egon. Nala turned to Egon and asked, "Why did they look like us?" Egon replied, "When you touch something, you leave a mental imprint, like a fingerprint." Ahadi said, "I think someone forgot to burn them. Dagnino turned to Peter and yelled, "Peter!!!!!!" Peter laughed nervously. Naturally, they agreed that it was just an accident. They didn't see them for another few weeks or so. For those next few weeks, it was just normal ghostbusting. One day, however, they found the ghostly doubles. Peter, James, Kate, Humphrey, Lilly, and Garth were in an alley when they heard a voice that sounded just like Peter. "I am Dr. Peter Venkman." the voice said. They turned around to see the ghost copy of Peter right above them. "No way! There's only one Dr. Peter Venkman in this city." Garth said back to the ghost. Peter said, "There isn't room in this town for both of us!" Kate said, "Give him full stream!" They only blasted the wall of the building when they fired the streams. Elsewhere, Egon and Winston had found their ghostly doubles. To rescue them, Ecto-1, with James at the wheel, sped around the corner and shot their way back to the firehouse. Along the way, they helped Ray elude his ghost duplicate. They had four spectors that looked like them. In fact, they were going to be the Ghostbusters. The only way to do that was to destroy the original Ghostbusters and the new recruits. That night, back at the firehouse, everyone was reviewing what they knew about these spectors. "Man, this job was a lot easier when these things didn't shoot back." said Dagnino. Lilly replied, "Right. To fight them, we have proton packs while they have packs that shoot ectoplasm." Kate said, "They probably think of the same things that we do." Suddenly, the engine of Ecto-1 revved. James shouted, "They got Ecto-1!" The spectors reversed and smashed the firehouse door with Ecto-1. Simba yelled, "Hey! I just tuned that!" Garth said, "Our packs are in there!" "Guys, look! The other proton packs!" said James, pointing to the several proton packs placed against the wall. Humphrey turned to them and said, "On the count of three, you guys head that way. The rest of us will get the packs. One, two, three!" Kate, Humphrey and Lilly lunged toward the packs. Alex and the others lunged in the opposite direction. The wolves strapped on the packs and raced back behind Janine's desk. Eve looked and said, "I just forgot! It's only got half a charge left." Kiara said, "Well, that will let us defend ourselves for a few minutes." Skipper told the others, "After that, we've had it!" Aleu replied, "Yeah. After the pack runs out, we're dead meat!" "Guys! Fire!" Simba shouted to Kate, Humphrey, and Lilly. They fired their blast streams. The spectors fired their ectoplasm streams back at them. Egon said, "Look carefully at them. See? Everytime they fire, they weaken." Winston said, "Of course! They're made of ectoplasmic energy. The more they use, the less they have!" "We need to find a way to wear them out." Garth said, thinking of what to do. Mufasa asked, "Who could we afford to lose?" Simba replied to his father, "I'll do it!" Slimer yelled, "No! I'm not letting you go out like this!" Slimer took off toward the spectors. Uru yelled, "Slimer! Don't do it!" Slimer took off, lunging toward the spectors and begam evading their blast streams. "It's working! They're getting weaker!" Kate cheered. "Nice work, Slimer." cheered Ray. "Aw, it was nothing!" Slimer replied. Just then, an ectoplasmic blast stream hit Slimer. He bounced around the room. Then, he landed on top of Peter, Humphrey, Garth, Lilly, Kate, Legolas, and Aleu. Alex asked, "Guys! Are you alright?!" Peter replied, "He got us!" Garth said, "Man, I feel so funky!" Kate turned to Garth and replied, "Yeah! I feel so wet, too!" Humphrey said, "This is just disgusting." Lilly said, "I do not want to be slimed again!" Aleu looked at herself and said, "This is not why I was recruited." Kairel helped them up and said, "Now you know what being slimed is like!" Kowalski asked, "You think Slimer used enough of their energy?" Skipper turned to him and said, "I think we're about to find out." When they tried to fire, there was only smoke coming out of their neutrona wands. "You zapped our little buddy!" Kate yelled to the spectors. Eve yelled, "Give 'em full stream!" They fired their blast streams, knocking them out the door. Everyone ran for the Ecto-1 and strapped on their proton packs. Ray turned to the spectors and said, "Say good night, guys. The REAL Ghostbusters are here to stay!" Ahadi shouted, "Hit 'em!" All the proton streams fired at the four spectors. Egon triumphantly said, "We got 'em! Throw the trap!" Tony said, "Garth, my wolf, do it!" Garth threw the trap out. "Trap open!" Garth yelled triumphantly. The spectors were sucked into the trap's capture, leaving only the old uniforms. Timon said, "Let's burn these uniforms!" Kate said, "You're right, Timon! The uniforms must go!"
